2015: Year in Review

0

It certainly was an eventful year at Experimental Pathology Laboratories, Inc. (EPL) again in 2015!  Here’s what you may have missed……….

EPL continues to add expertise in pathology by establishing a California site headed by Dr. Ted Birkebak in the San Francisco Bay Area to start off 2015 allowing EPL to provide local support in California and the western U.S. In February 2015, EPL began an alliance with Dr. Valerie G. Barlow to provide clinical pathology evaluation and consultation services for EPL’s clients.  In June 2015, Mr. Kerry Crabb, who has 25+ years of experience managing histology laboratories, will be the Manager of NC Laboratory Operations position upon Andy Marias’ retirement in 2016.  These additions have continued to enable EPL to meet demanding timelines and provide high quality histopathology services.

EPL was active at many conferences and industry events in 2015 as a meeting/event sponsor, exhibitor, presenter of posters or as part of symposia. In March, nine members of EPL’s staff traveled to beautiful San Diego for the 54th Society of Toxicology (SOT) Meeting and ToxExpo.  Two GoPro video cameras were given away to two very lucky attendees!  This fall, EPL also exhibited at the ACVP/STP/ASCVP Combined Annual Meeting, National Society for Histotechnology (NSH), Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Annual Meeting, and American College of Toxicology (ACT) Annual Meeting.

In October 2015, two of EPL’s pathologists were recognized at the ACVP/ASCVP/STP Combined Annual Meeting in Minneapolis, MN. Dr. Jerry Hardisty, President and CEO of EPL, Inc. was recognized as a Distinguished Member of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) which is given to a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists who has rendered exceptionally distinguished service to the College or who has contributed in an exemplary manner to veterinary pathology.  Dr. Torrie Crabbs received the second Society of Toxicologic Pathology (STP) Distinguished Early Career Award which is given to a member in good standing who has made significant, early career advances in toxicologic pathology.
