EPL Co-sponsoring Sessions at the 33rd American College of Toxicology (ACT) Annual Meeting


EPL is pleased to announce that we will be sponsoring two sessions at the 33rd Annual American College of Toxicology (ACT) meeting in ChampionsGate, FL this year.

EPL is co-sponsoring a CE Course along with AnaPath GmbH entitled, “Role of the Pathologist in GLP Studies” to be held Sunday, November 4th, 2012 from 8:00am – 11:30am.  Dr. Jerry Hardisty will serve as the Chairperson and speaker; Dr. Peter Mann will also be a speaker.  The course will provide an overview of the many roles that toxicologic pathologists serve in regard to toxicology and carcinogenicity studies throughout differing stages of evaluations and the relationships between the Study Director, Sponsor, and other pathologists.  The roles of the Study Pathologist, Peer Review Pathologists, Pathology Working Group Chairperson and participants of Pathology Working Groups (PWGs) or Scientific Advisory Panels (SAPs) will be detailed along with the applicable GLP regulations and best practices for pathology evaluations.

EPL is also co-sponsoring a Symposium along with BASi entitled, “The Unique World of Safety and Toxicology Testing of Medical Devices” to be held Wednesday, November 7th, 2012 from 9:00am – 11:30am.  Dr. Kathleen Funk will serve as the Chairperson.  The session will focus on the unique toxicology testing requirements compared to drugs or biologics from a regulatory as well as scientific perspective.  Presenters will discuss study design, the choice of appropriate species, how to present the data, issues to foresee regarding regulatory requirements, unusual processing techniques and histopathology results.
