CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Richard Castro received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech in 1985 and earned his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1986. Rick is a member of the AICPA and the VSCPA. Rick joined EPL in 2018 as Chief Financial Officer. As Chief Financial Officer, he is responsible for all of the financial and administrative functions of the company including finance and accounting, human resources, and contract administration as well as information technology.
Prior to joining EPL, Rick was an equity partner and manager with the CPA firm Thompson, Greenspon & Co., P.C. of Fairfax, Virginia for 30 years. Thompson, Greenspon is a regional accounting and auditing firm. Rick served various industries and financial capacities for the firm, including government contracting, construction, employee benefits plans, ESOP accounting and auditing, non-profit organizations and professional services companies. Rick has extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, profit-and-loss leadership, mergers and acquisition, HR, and strategic long-range planning. He has also served on the board of non-profit organizations in various positions.
