VICE PRESIDENT, EPL, INC., SENIOR PATHOLOGIST
Thomas (Tom) J. Steinbach received his D.V.M. degree from the University of Minnesota. He is certified in anatomic pathology by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and in toxicology by the American Board of Toxicology. Currently, he is Vice President for Experimental Pathology Laboratories (EPLâ), Inc. Before joining EPL, he was the Director of Pathology at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Tom has participated on numerous STP committees, working groups, and panels, including the STP Scientific and Regulatory Policy Committee. He currently serves as a member of the Education Committee for the American College of Toxicology and functions as the course coordinator for the joint STP-ACT course: Pathology for the Non-Pathologist. Tom has been integral in developing EPL’s digital pathology capabilities, including using artificial intelligence in creating pathology solutions. He has extensive government and industry experience and is a recognized expert in electron microscopy and digital pathology. Tom has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters.
